DTL, explained

What DTL is, what it is not, where the reserves sit, and the risks worth naming out loud.

What DTL is

Dollar True Love (DTL) is a USD-referenced asset issued on the Stellar public network by a single canonical issuer. It is backed by a transparent basket of on-chain reserves you can read yourself, and it trades against 14 pairs in Stellar liquidity pools.

What DTL is not

  • ×not a bank deposit and not e-money
  • ×not risk-free and not guaranteed
  • ×not redeemable on demand — there is no redemption right
  • ×not investment advice

Add the DTL trustline

To hold DTL on Stellar you first add a trustline with the asset code and issuer below. LOVE Wallet does this in one tap.

The wrapper model

Stellar is the hub and the only canonical issuer. Other chains host wrappers (kDTL, sDTL, bDTL) that may only be minted against DTL locked on Stellar, 1:1, and burning a wrapper releases the lock. Wrapped supply must never exceed locked DTL.

Risks

  • Reserve risk: reserves are held in other on-chain assets whose value moves. Commodity and crypto pillars can fall.
  • Liquidity risk: pool depth is limited. A large order can move the price far from the reference.
  • Peg risk: the $1 reference can deviate, sometimes for a long time.
  • Bridge risk: no bridge is live. Any wrapper offered today is unofficial.
  • Issuer and smart-contract risk: code and keys can fail. Read the reserves page yourself.

FAQ

Is 1 DTL always worth 1 dollar?

No. 1 DTL ≈ 1.00 USD is a reference. The live implied price per pool is on the peg page.

Can I bridge DTL to Solana today?

No. No wrapper is deployed on any chain and no public bridge is live.

Does this terminal hold my funds?

No. It is read-only and non-custodial. It never asks for a secret key or seed phrase, and every trade is signed in your own wallet on the venue.

Where does the data come from?

Public Stellar Horizon endpoints and the market registry published on lovecoin.life. Nothing here is invented.
